Candidate Requirements:

  • Research, build and pitch presentations, and execute partnership deals with professional music producers and artists for influencers and affiliates.

  • Manage product performance and collaborate with internal and external teams on effective promotional performance strategies (i.e. Promo Codes, Boosting, etc.) Develop and present reports to company executives on the ongoing impact on marketing and content partnerships.

  • Relationship management and oversight of services for existing Beatclub clients to ensure high satisfaction and drive recurring revenue.

  • Liaise with Design, Production, Marketing, PR, and Business Partnerships teams to ensure timelines, weekly trackers, and content initiatives are properly prioritized Develop and Manage KPI reporting for external and internal partners and artists around sample packs, promo campaign initiatives, ad performance, and user acquisition optimization

  • Develop, manage and ultimately help define Beatclub’s operational strategy for multiple beta products to efficiently scale for commercial use.

  • Oversee sample pack creation and release process to ensure branded sample packs maintain quality standards.

  • Manage and distribute responsibility with clear communication to cross-functional internal partners involved in the sample pack creation process.

  • Pitch and execute strategic artist series and leverage relationships for in-house branded content with artists and producers.

  • Manage partnerships and marketing with artists and brand campaigns.

  • Pitch editorial partnerships and campaigns with potential partners.

  • Brief and oversee the execution of marketing/editorial deliverables for sample pack releases in coordination with the content team and other key marketing stakeholders.

  • Create new video franchises for Beatclub to engage users, Beatclub subscribers, and prospective users with artist content.

Ideal candidates will also have:

  • Bachelor's Degree, MBA a plus

Job Description:

  • Structure, negotiate, draft, and review a variety of complex music deals including tech partners, software and hardware partnerships, profit-split deals, licensing agreements, distribution agreements and various types of licenses. Draft related approval memos and contract summaries. This position will also work closely with Beatclub’s outside counsel.

  • Review employee agreements, partnership agreements with brands, software and hardware companies, marketing, and promotional materials to determine potential legal issues and assess the possible risks associated with their distribution;

  • Identify and analyze potential risks related to platforms content and other business activities.

Education + Licenses:

  • J.D. from an accredited university and authorization to practice law in New York State and/or California

  • Member of New York/California Bar Association

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of legal experience, including intellectual property experience and three years of transactional work in the recorded music industry

  • Experience from prominent music company, law firm, in house legal department preferred

  • The ideal candidate will have experience with a variety of music tech-related matters including synchronization and master use licenses, record company and music publishing waivers, for purposes of music engagements for media, film, television and emerging technologies.

  • Must be a self-starter and able to begin workflow each day with limited supervision

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively interact with a range of personalities and negotiating styles and establish effective relationships externally and internally at all organizational levels

  • Ability to multi-task and balance competing priorities

  • Candidates in Los Angeles or New York preferred
